Experience the freedom and independence that scuba diving offers!

The Try-Scuba session offered by the Free-Daptive Divers is a brief introduction to adaptive scuba diving that is taught by certified dive instructors with training in adaptive sports. Our Try-Scuba program offers a safe, non-threatening and fun opportunity to experience the thrill scuba diving offers. Try-Scuba is a quick and easy introduction to scuba diving, with each session lasting approximately 60-minutes.

Participants must be 14-years of age or older and have medical approval to participate in the Try-Scuba session.  Forms will be sent to those registering for this Try-Scuba opportunity.

Free-Daptive Divers, to participate in the Upper Midwest Scuba and Adventure Travel Show (UMSAT) at The Mermaid in Moundsview, MN. March 24th and 25th 2023.

Free-Daptive Divers (FDD) will be participating in the UMSAT event at the Mermaid in Moundsview MN, March 24th and 25th. Come out and see a presentation by our FDD president Aaron Cross Friday evening March 24th, starting at 6pm.

 

Our FDD booth will be set up on Sat 25th from 9am-2pm

Free-Daptive Divers, Fun Dives Summer of 2023.

Come join Free-Daptive Divers (FDD) this summer diving the mines of Cuyuna, in Ironton MN.

 

All divers are welcome, but if you need assistance, please let us know in advance of your needs so we have the right number of divers available for everyone in need.

All divers must be scuba certified, and bring your own gear/tanks/weights. If you don’t have your own tanks, call/reserve a tank at MN School of Diving, at 218-829-5953. brdinfo@mndiving.com. Summer Hours: (June-September 18th) Monday-Friday: 9:30am-5:30pm.

 

There is a fee to enter the Cuyuna Recreational Area. NOTE: Starting 2023, there is NO LONGER a kiosk to purchase daily or yearly parking passes. The easiest way to get a pass is to purchase them in advance at https://reservemn.usedirect.com/MinnesotaWeb/Passes/Passes.aspx. If you plan to go there more than once, it’s best to get a yearly pass at $35.

Saturday, July 29.  

Join the Free-Daptive team as we travel to the Cuyuna Recreation Area in Ironton, Minnesota where we will enjoy some of the best diving in the Midwest. This beautiful park offers clear water; featuring roadbeds, underwater forests and plentiful marine life. The park is fully accessible for those with disabilities. Water clarity is very good, with visibility ranging from 20 to 50 feet. Fun dives are open to adaptive and able-bodied divers. Non-diver volunteers are welcome to assist
with shore related activities or simply socializing. Please RSVP.
 
Dates: Saturday, July 29th –
 
Be at the park by 9:00am, be in water by 10:00am. Food provided after diving event. 
 
Equipment: Divers are  responsible for their gear, including tanks/weights
 
Food: Shore lunch provided
 
Other: Family friendly
 
Cost: $10.00 pp, payable in cash at the event, to help defray cost of food.

Come join Free-Daptive Divers (FDD) this summer to in the Prior Lake cleanup event. June 17th 2023.

All divers must be scuba certified, and bring your own gear/tanks/weights. If you don’t have your own tanks, call/reserve a tank at any scuba shop in the Twins City area.

A virtual showcase of adaptive sports and recreation, presented by Coloplast

Free-Daptive Divers is excited and honored to once again be a part of the Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institutes Discover Abilities Expo, this year being held as a Virtual Expo.

Join us as well as all the other sponsors and presenters virtually at the annual regional showcase of adaptive sports and recreation opportunities. This event will allow you to explore all the Midwest has to offer in the world of adaptive sports and recreation, resources, programs, and opportunities to stay physically, mentally and socially active from home and within your community. There will be virtual presentations, demonstrations, fitness classes, and various other activities offered throughout the day!

Come and learn about scuba diving, alpine skiing, floor hockey, fishing, fitness, cycling, classes, art, dance, geocaching, golf, kayaking, lacrosse, martial arts, mountain biking, Nordic skiing, theater, outdoor recreation, rock climbing, rowing, rugby, power soccer, sailing, sled hockey, softball, tennis, swimming, gymnastics, tai chi, yoga, wheelchair basketball, wheelchair rugby, and more!

This event is open to adaptive divers, non-adaptive divers and all the friends of Free-Daptive Divers. If you are an adaptive diver please RSVP to the email address below so we can make sure to have dive buddies available. If you are certified as a dive buddy for adaptive scuba divers, also please RSVP to the email address below. If you are interested in volunteering but are not a scuba diver, extra help on land and on the boats is also welcome. Check us out on Facebook or the events section of our website for more details.
